Yes, we know it is a MCTD device.  I tried twice and failed on both attempts to install the Xposed Framework SDK22 (Lollipop) using the flashable .ZIP file with FlashFire (FlashGordon didn't work either, and we don't have TWRP or CWM).  The result of both attempts was a soft brick, where the device would come up with "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" in a repeating loop, crashing the UI and never loading the launcher.

Therefore I was only willing to try twice before giving up.  If someone else manages to get Xposed installed on the 10" 5.1.1 Unit I'd love to know how so that I can also try XposedMTC module.

Xposed Failure Soft Brick

Malaysk has tried all versions of Xposed for lollipop and non work on mtcD
there is phone.app or something like that when the xposed gets to it, it keeps rebooting.
you can contact the Devs of Xposed on XDA and see if they can help create a version compatible with mtcD units

as for BT, Joying is working on mcu and ROM update that should help
but I believe the name limit of OBD2 will be still there.
so if your device name is not OBD2 probably still wont work.

what has worked for me in the past is starting with a clean install of ROM
before Connecting any other Bluetooth device or phone

turn on the car without obd2
wait for the device to load fully 2-3 min

connect your OBD2
Do Not pair it
Go to Torque
setting> OBD2 settings>
un check the fast connection
then chose automatically turn on bluetooth option
restart Torque
again back to the same setting and manually chose your OBD2 mac while there is no other Bluetooth device around (turn off your phone Bluetooth)
this worked for me using Joying BT OBD and mtcD head unit.

it might take couple of tries,
if this does not work for you perhaps you can wait for the next ROM update.

There was a report that someone added some Lib files for Bluetooth to his ROM and got it working smoothly on XDA but he never shared them to be verified...

mtcD software and hardware are new and will get better as time goes on and more development is done

Thanks - this worked.  I now have torque up and running on the head unit.

Anyone want to list their specific OBD2 adapters that worked?

Where did you pay 140 for it? It's 49.95 on Amazon

At first I could not see it.  So I changed my Bluetooth password on the Joying to 1234 to match the OBDII.  Then I had to disconnect my Samsung S7 Edge.  Then when I searched I found the OBDII.  I was able to connect it and reconnect my S7 Edge, and have both my phone and the OBDII adapter connected at the same time.

Worked perfect with Torque.

I have used 2 different adapters. The ELM327 V2.1 http://www.ebay.ca/itm/161751363527 and the older Mini ELM327 V1.5. both worked without any problem, the only issue with the v1,5 was that it was falling from the ODB2 socket.

Ah, sorry, you didn't mention where you lived so I assumed US. But still the LX should work with Torque. Try going to the Torque forums, they might have an answer

It works with Torque fine on any other device. I can't connect to the Head unit via bluetooth because its a MCTD unit.

Are you using the version that came with Joying?  I have the Android 5.1, MTCD for Jeep. Using the OBDII that i linked earlier, it worked perfect with the Torque app that came with my Joying unit.

However I tried Malaysk ROM and the version of Torque that came with that does not work.  I also removed that one and tried the one from the Play Store and it did not work either.

so I am going to try to find a way to get the APK of Torque that came with my Joying unit
